About · The Crazy Brown Family
Every journey begins with curiosity.
Some of life's most memorable moments aren't found in guidebooks. They're discovered on a windswept cliff overlooking the Atlantic, at the end of a quiet hiking trail, or in the few minutes when sunrise turns an ordinary landscape into something unforgettable.Mountains & Shores was created to capture those moments.
We're a family of four based in Longmont, Colorado, where the Rocky Mountains are part of the everyday view. Living among them sparked a desire to explore what lay beyond — rugged coastlines, remote islands, dramatic landscapes, and the stories hidden between them.
What began as a collection of travel photographs has grown into a journal of adventure, landscape photography, and thoughtfully crafted guides — made to inspire others to explore with curiosity, purpose, and respect.

The story behind the name
Between two landscapes, we've found our most meaningful experiences.Mountains & Shores is where those worlds meet — a collection of places that have challenged us, surprised us, and changed the way we see the world.
Mountains
Challenge, perspective, and the reward that comes from taking the harder path.
Shores
Stillness, reflection, and the reminder that every journey eventually reaches a place to pause.
Meet the family
Every adventure begins with the four of us. Together, we're not chasing a checklist of countries — we're collecting experiences we'll remember long after the trip is over.
Anurag
Behind the camera
Usually a few steps behind everyone else — not because he's slow, but because he's waiting for the light to be just right. Photography is his way of preserving not only what a place looks like, but what it feels like to stand there.
Pinky
The planner
Turns ambitious ideas into journeys that actually happen — researching hidden destinations and keeping everyone moving when travel doesn’t go to plan. The steady force behind every adventure.
Aryaman
The trailblazer
Brings curiosity, energy, and a willingness to tackle almost any trail. Every trip becomes another opportunity to discover something new.
Ahana
The detail-spotter
Reminds us to slow down. She notices the little details adults overlook — proof that sometimes the best discoveries are the smallest ones.

Our philosophy
Meaningful travel isn't about collecting passport stamps. It's about slowing down enough to experience a place.
- Watching the weather change across a mountain range.
- Waking before sunrise because the light might last only minutes.
- Taking the longer trail — the journey matters as much as the destination.
- Returning home with stories, not just photographs.
Every article, guide, and photograph we publish reflects that philosophy.
Our promise
The travel industry is full of polished itineraries and endless "Top 10" lists. That's not why Mountains & Shores exists.
If we recommend a destination, we've experienced it ourselves.
If we suggest a hike, we've walked it.
If we share a photograph, it's one we captured on our own journey.
The goal is simple: travel content that's honest, practical, beautifully documented, and worthy of your trust.
Looking ahead
Mountains & Shores is growing into more than a travel journal. Our long-term vision is to become a trusted home for outdoor travel inspiration, premium destination guides, landscape photography, and thoughtfully curated planning.
As we explore new places around the world, we'll stay committed to the principles that inspired this from the beginning: authenticity, curiosity, craftsmanship, and respect for the landscapes and communities we visit.
