The honest bit

Affiliate disclosure

We want Mountains & Shores to stay useful and honest, so here's exactly how the money side works.

What affiliate links are

Some of the links on this site — for hotels and independent resorts, tours, gear, and travel insurance — are affiliate links. If you click one and go on to book or buy, we may earn a small commission. It never costs you anything extra; the price is the same whether you use our link or not.

Our promise

  • We only point you to places and services we'd genuinely send our own family.
  • When we say “we stayed here” or “we've done this”, we mean it — we badge first-hand experience honestly and don't pretend to have visited places we haven't.
  • Where an independent resort has its own booking page, we'll happily send youdirect to them — even when it earns us nothing — because supporting independent owners matters more than a commission.
  • A commission never buys a better review. If we didn't love it, we won't recommend it.

How links are marked

Affiliate links are labelled where they appear and carry a rel="sponsored nofollow"attribute, following search-engine and FTC guidance.
