The feeling of the place

Canopy is Hilton’s neighbourhood brand, and this one leans all the way into its corner of Reykjavík. You step out the door and you’re in 101 — the creative, walkable core of the city, all painted timber houses, coffee roasters, wool shops and that famous rainbow-painted street leading up to the church.

It’s the perfect bookend to an Iceland trip: land, drop the bags, and spend the first (or last) evening on foot — dinner two streets over, a nightcap by the harbour, the mountains across the bay catching the last of the light. Rooms are stylish and warm, a welcome change of pace from the wild coast.

Good to know

Downtown parking is tight and metered — if you’ve got a rental, ask about the hotel’s arrangements. Reykjavík is compact, so lean into walking; you’ll see more of it.
