The postcard of the Faroes: the tiny village of Gásadalur perched above Múlafossur, a waterfall that drops straight off the cliff into the Atlantic with jagged sea stacks behind. A short, near-flat walk from the car park to the classic viewpoint.
Until a tunnel was blasted through the mountain in 2004, Gásadalur could only be reached on foot over the pass or by helicopter — which is why it stayed so untouched. Park at the signposted lot and follow the short path to the viewpoint for Múlafossur, where the stream leaps off the headland into the sea. Early morning and golden hour are best; it’s exposed, so hold onto hats and give the unfenced edge room. Ten minutes of walking for one of Europe’s great coastal views.
